Buffalo craftsman Charles Rohlfs produced the most original Art Nouveau furniture in the country, and his work won wide acclaim in Europe.

Many of Rohlfs' graceful furniture designs graced his living room on Park Street.

Rohlfs created this clock for his exhibit at the Pan-American Exposition (1901). In 1911 he donated it to the Automobile Club of Buffalo, and it was placed in its Esenwein & Johnson-designed clubhouse.
