Frederick Walrath (1871-1921) attended the New York State School of Clayworking and Ceramics at Alfred University. In 1903 he taught at Chautauqua Institution's Arts & Crafts School. Walrath was also an instructor in the Department of Decorative and Fine Arts of the Mechanics Institute(RIT)in Rochester, NY.
