Buffalo and Western New York History Course

Come join us for a unique look at Buffalo and Western New York's history from the Ice Age to the Civil War.

Topics covered will include:

  • Geologic background of the region
  • Native American influences
  • French exploration
  • Fortification
  • French and Indian War
  • British domination
  • Settlement of Western New York
  • War of 1812
  • Regional rivalry
  • Erie Canal
  • Development of Buffalo 1832-1860
  • The Impact of the Civil War

This six-week course, presented by Kenmore-Tonawanda historian John W. Percy and Iroquois Central High School educator Mark W. Davison, will take place on Tuesday nights from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in our auditorium.
